Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Manual and Auto modes?
In Manual mode, the booster fans will follow your direct control. You can press the up and down buttons on the Smart Vent to increase or decrease the fan speed. Or use the Apple Home app to increase or decrease the fan speed.
In Auto mode, the booster fans will only turn on when your HVAC is blowing hot or cold air. The fans will turn off when the air in the duct is no longer hot or cold.
How do I switch between Manual and Auto modes?
Press the Mode (≡) button on your Smart Vent to switch between Manual and Auto modes.
In Manual mode, the logo will flash GREEN.
In Auto mode, the logo will flash BLUE.
How do I turn my vent On/Off?
In the Apple Home app, set the Vent's fan speed to 0%.
If you prefer not to use the app, press the down arrow button on the Vent until the fans stop.
How does the Cozy Home Smart Vent know when to turn On/Off?
In Auto mode, the Cozy Home Smart Vent checks the temperature of the air in the duct. If the duct air is hot or cold, this means your HVAC is running. If the duct air is the same temperature as the room, there is no need to continue boosting the air.

Is the Smart Vent loud?
We tested the Smart Vent in a sound box, and measured 40dB at 80% fan speed. This is about as loud as someone whispering.
Does the Smart Vent hurt my HVAC?
The Cozy Home Smart Vent uses fans to boost airflow. This helps alleviate the amount of pressure your HVAC fan sees, and your HVAC fan will operate more ideally.
Booster fans also move hot or cold air out of your HVAC faster. This helps alleviate potential issues like your furnace getting too hot or your compressor freezing up.
Does the Smart Vent use WiFi?
Yes, the Cozy Home Smart Vent uses WiFi. You won't have to enter in your WiFi SSID or password, but please be sure there is WiFi available for the Smart Vent to connect to.
